Why Bare Soul Therapy

Most therapists treat anxiety. I help you change the patterns underneath it.

If you have already tried surface-level coping tools, breathwork apps, or short-term therapy that did not stick — this is different. The work here goes beneath the symptom to what is actually keeping it in place.

AASECT-Certified Sex Therapy

Fewer than 1,000 clinicians in the country hold this certification. It means specialized, ethics-bound training in working with desire, intimacy, shame, and sexual functioning — not a weekend workshop.

Depth, not just coping

Anxiety, perfectionism, low desire, and relationship distance all share roots. We treat the root system — attachment patterns, internalized beliefs, nervous-system responses — so the change actually holds.

Sex-positive and trauma-informed

A rare space to talk about sex, bodies, and desire without judgment, and to do so safely if you carry past hurt. No moralizing, no awkwardness — just clinical care.

For high-functioning adults

Designed for people who look fine on the outside, hold a lot, and are tired of pretending. You will not be handed a worksheet and a pep talk.

Client Stories

What clients say about working here.

Anonymized reflections from individuals and couples who have done this work. Real change does not have to mean years of weekly sessions — it means going underneath the symptom together.

Working with Dr. Negin gave me language for things I had carried for years without understanding. The patterns I thought were just "who I am" turned out to be protective and changeable. I feel like a different person in my relationship now.

Individual therapy client

Anxiety & perfectionism · Florida

We came in barely speaking. Six months later we are not just communicating — we are actually close again. The sex therapy work was uncomfortable to start and ended up being the most valuable part.

Couples therapy clients

Couples & sex therapy · Illinois

I had been to three other therapists who could not really sit with the sexual piece. Dr. Negin is the first person who could hold all of it — the trauma, the desire, the shame — without flinching.

How It Works

A simple, low-pressure path in.

Most people stall on starting therapy because the path looks fuzzy. Here is exactly what it looks like to work together.

  1. 01

    Free 15-minute consultation

We talk briefly to make sure I am the right fit for what you are bringing in. No pressure to book.

  2. 02

    Intake & first session

We map your history, current concerns, and goals — and start the work in our first 50-minute session.

  3. 03

    Weekly virtual sessions

We meet weekly over secure video. Most clients begin to feel meaningful shifts within 6–10 sessions.

  4. 04

    Lasting change

You leave with internal tools, clearer relationships, and a different relationship to yourself — not just a list of tips.

Couples Therapy

Rediscover what drew you together.

Couples therapy helps you and your partner move beyond stuck patterns and return to the joy, playfulness, and closeness that relationships can hold.

What Therapy Here Feels Like

Gentle, practical, and deeply attuned.

Collaborative

We work together, you bring your lived experience; and I offer practical strategies, insight, and support. I believe that clients are the expert in their own life, and my role is to provide guidance, encouragement, and offer perspectives that can help you to expand the way that you view yourself, the world, and those around you.

Compassionate

Your coping strategies, past, and fears make sense in the context that you live in. All actions taken to this point have been primarily aimed at ensuring your own protection. I aim to meet those parts with understanding, empathy, and curious exploration, so that we can build internal self-trust that allows you to find a more adaptive way of relating to yourself and others.

Insight-Oriented

We work together to slowly and steadily unravel the patterns shaping your anxiety, perfectionism, depression or relationship dynamics. We examine the internalized beliefs, emotions, cultural/familial/ societal messages that influence behaviors and our emotional states. At a pace that feels comfortable for you, we will update the old, learned habits that have become rigid, and unhelpful with new ways of thinking, emoting, and behaving that are flexible.

FAQ

Answers before you begin.

Browse All FAQs

Do you accept insurance?

Due to the highly sensitive nature of this work, I do not accept insurance. If you have private insurance and would like to use your out-of-network benefits, you will be provided with a receipt of services that you may submit to your insurance company for partial reimbursement. It is advised that you call your insurance company to verify out-of-network coverage for outpatient mental health services.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before your scheduled session will incur the full session fee. No show appointments will be charged the full session fee. I will not wait more than 15 minutes past the hour of your scheduled session: if you are late to a session at or after this point, you will be responsible for the full fee of the session.

What are your accepted forms of payment?

Payment is due in full at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards. HSA and FSA are also accepted.

One last thing

You are allowed to want more than just "functioning."

Most people wait years before reaching out — long after the cost of staying the same has quietly become much higher than the cost of change. A free 15-minute consultation does not commit you to anything. It just lets you find out, with no pressure, whether this is the kind of help you have been looking for.

  • No insurance hassles — superbills provided for out-of-network reimbursement
  • Transparent flat-rate pricing — no surprise fees
  • Sessions from anywhere in Florida or Illinois — no commute

Begin here, at your own pace.

If you are ready to feel more connected, more grounded, and more like yourself, let's start with a complimentary 15-minute consultation.
